Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Eating Disorders Service

HPFT is at the forefront of providing integrated health and social care. HPFT is one of a handful of mental health trusts in the country to receive a CQC rating of ‘Good’. The Trust aims “to become the leading provider of Mental Health and Specialist Learning Disability services in the country”.

HPFT would like to recruit one enthusiastic and committed Consultant Psychiatrist in to a Substantive post within the Trust wide Community Eating Disorders service based at Rosanne House in Welwyn Garden City.

The Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) provides assessment and treatment of working age adults with Eating Disorders that require management in secondary care in the community. The successful candidates will work closely with the members of the multidisciplinary team and undertake appropriate and evidence based psychiatric interventions. We have a strong team of highly qualified staff group that includes psychologists, therapists of different background, clinical nurse specialist and dietician.

The role of the post holder is complimentary to all these professionals to achieve a comprehensive management of the eating disorders. The focus will be on medical and psychological aspect of the eating disorders. The post is part of a fully integrated multi-disciplinary team and has administrative support. Applicants must be fully registered medical practitioners and on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining their CCT, be approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983, and have Approved Clinician status.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
