Your role will be as an administrator/Team Secretary for the Adult Eating Disorders Service based in Welwyn Garden City.  
The team is cohesive, caring and supportive and provides a great environment to work.

You will be required to process patient records, answer phones, minute meetings, support the team and the lead clinicians with their admin work and may be required to undertake duties such as fire warden

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will develop key relationships with colleagues in the CEDS Team, peers within Roseanne House and with other staff across Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, outside agencies and the general public. To effectively manage constructively any barriers to understanding.

To demonstrate empathy, tact and diplomacy when dealing with calls from service users and carers who may be experiencing anxiety.

The post holder will also provide support to colleagues, where appropriate.

At times the post holder may be the only member of the CEDS Service in the office and at these times will need to be aware of and monitor the whereabouts of individual team members and would be expected to be able to take the decision to alert relevant CEDS/Site Services personnel to any untoward incident.

The post holder will manage and prioritise the daily post.

Will action e-mails on a daily basis using own initiative where possible.

Will chase actions, outputs and outcomes.

Compile agendas and take minutes of meetings as and when required.

The post holder will be expected to establish, maintain and bring forward effective filing systems.

Person specification

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • A good standard of education to at least secondary level
  • Advanced I.T Skills
  • RSA II/III or equivalent experience/ knowledge
  • Significant administration/ office experience
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL (European Computer and Driving Licence

AREAS OF EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Microsoft Word Packages
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Proficient in diary management
  • Ability to record and transcribe minutes
  • Ability to maintain both computerised and paper filing systems

  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people whilst taking into account the confidential nature of the post
