Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Medical Psychotherapy
Colne House, Watford
HPFT is one of a handful of mental health trusts in the country to receive a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’. The Trust aims “to become the leading provider of Mental Health and Specialist Learning Disability services in the country”.
The post involves providing medical leadership for psychotherapy in HPFT and clinical leadership in the SW Community Mental Health Team (based in Watford) providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high risk psychiatric conditions. The post holder will be based in Colne House, Watford which is the base for one of the Community Teams covering SW Hertfordshire. Clinical work such as outpatient clinics will take place at Colne House but may also take place in another Trust location or other community destinations such as at service user's home, in prison or in police stations.
The post holder must ensure the relevant professional registration is maintained, including Section 12, Approved Clinician, and Responsible Clinician status.

Occupational Health & DBS Checks: The appointment will be subject to clearance from the Occupational Health Department and the DBS.
Period of Notice: To terminate employment a notice period of 3 months will be required.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
