Hertfordshire Community Perinatal Team (CPT)
Band 8a, 30 hours per week (0.8 WTE)
In line with the NHS Long Term Plan vision for specialist perinatal services, the Hertfordshire Community Perinatal Team (CPT) is going through a period of significant expansion and development with a focus on the provision of psychological and parent-infant therapies. In this context, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled parent-infant therapist to join the team and take a role in shaping development in this thriving, supportive and well-regarded specialist multi-disciplinary team.
The team serves the county of Hertfordshire, supporting women with mental health needs, through pregnancy and the postnatal period as well as working closely with maternity staff and providers of primary, secondary and inpatient care.
About you: the post-holder will have a demonstrable record in delivering evidence-based parent-infant interventions such as VIG and Circle of Security. You will have a passion for building parent-infant relationships and have a strong sense of professional identity. You will be highly skilled in delivering individual work and group-based interventions. Your responsibilities as a senior therapist in the team will include contributing to service development, teaching the wider perinatal team and other key stakeholders; as well as offering supervision to a band 7 Parent-Infant Therapist and support to a range of clinicians training in parent-infant interventions and trainee clinical and counselling psychologists and colleagues in the wider MDT.
The successful applicant will receive regular supervision from the Parent-Infant Clinical Lead and be an integrated member of the MDT; attending team meetings and perinatal and parent-infant specific training sessions as well as liaising with team members and healthcare professionals throughout Hertfordshire.
A driving license and access to a car will be essential for this position.
