We are looking to appoint a senior nurse who has the ability to work in conjunction with other members of the management team, to contribute in the development and implementation of C-CATT providing a high quality service to meet the needs of children and young people in acute phases of mental illness, and their carers.
This post-holder will carry shared responsibility for leading young people presenting in Watford General Hospital needing mental health support or psycho social support.
In addition to providing a wide range of specialist psychosocial skills within the Mental Health Liaison field in support of staff, you will provide formal and informal education and training to other members of the team, other disciplines and teams in the acute hospital.
You as a C-CATT Clinical Specialist Nurse will undertake urgent assessments of children and young people, and their families, in crisis and where appropriate provide short term support as an alternative to admission.
Under your supervision, in consultation with C-CATT Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and support staff will be delivering full assessments of care needs and risk assessment of patients across the CAMHS age range presenting with a wide variety of clinical conditions, usually but not exclusively within the Acute Hospital A&E Departments.
The CCATT service provides a service, 7 days a week 9.00am-5.00pm. However in this post you would provide cover from 9.00am -5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
The post-holder will maintain clinical responsibility for the team caseload, overseeing referrals, A&E presentations and the allocation of clients to keyworkers, ensuring that care packages are maintained under the auspices of CPA maintaining a clinical role in consultation with the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
