We are seeking a part time Psychological Therapist who is motivated to help change the lives of adults with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders (EUPD) living in the community in Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health professional who wishes to gain more expertise and make a positive difference to this client group.  The post sits within our EUPD pathway,   within the psychological therapies service, which is part of a multi-disciplinary Adult Community Mental Health Service, and would best suit a practitioner with some experience of assessing and intervening with adults with complex trauma and emotional dysregulation.

The EUPD pathway includes therapists and practitioners from various disciplines, including social work, occupational therapy, nursing and psychology. You will ideally already be trained in or keen to train in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and will work with a DBT team. Your clinical work will be supported by a weekly DBT staff consult.

You will be managed by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and work within a multi-disciplinary team.  The post includes providing specialist assessments and evidence based interventions (individual and group interventions) with adults with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.  You will also supervise more junior members of the PD pathway staff, offer consultation and teaching to the multi-disciplinary team,  and contribute to the development and evaluation of this innovative service. You will join a dedicated and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team committed to developing the highest standards of clinical assessment and treatment for our service users.

The post-holder will be based at Saffron Ground in Stevenage, and will  provide a service for individuals accessing the service across North Hertfordshire.   Currently working partly remotely in response to Covid 19, we anticipate you will be moving towards office based working in the coming months, and it would be preferable for the post-holder to be able to drive.

There are professional links across Hertfordshire, with structures in place for supervision and governance. There are also strong links with the University of Hertfordshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training Course with opportunities for contributing to teaching and taking trainee clinical psychologists on placement.   We also prioritise opportunities for CPD.
