This is an exciting opportunity to be part of leading an innovative service, fundamentally changing the way in which psychological treatments are provided.
The HPFT Wellbeing Team covers Hertfordshire, with the main bases being Hemel Hempstead, Watford , Stevenage (Stevenage and North Herts) and Welwyn. This post is for the Stevenage site.
Our service is focused on delivering high quality therapy, being amongst the highest performers in the region. We continue to run innovative groups for our clients such as Perinatal, Older adults and Long Term Conditions. We pride ourselves on the support we offer to staff and provide an extensive programme of CPD for all our clinicians.
The Wellbeing Team was one of the first IAPT services in the UK to achieve accreditation status with the Accreditation Programme for Psychological Therapies Services (APPTS). As well as identifying and acknowledging services that have high standards, APPTS, a partnership between the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Centre for Quality Improvement and the British Psychological Society, provides a network through which best practice can be shared. This is a fantastic achievement which provides recognition nationally of the Wellbeing Team as a high quality service.
We are proudly developing an innovative integrated service, as part of the NHS England Five Year Forward View for Mental Health. Our West Herts sites are ‘early implementers’ of the pilot, integrating care for people with mental and physical health problems, which has been rolled out across all sites due to its successful outcomes.
You will be part of a multi-professional workforce that will significantly increase access to treatment for people with depression, anxiety and other common mental health conditions, within a Primary Care setting. The IAPT service provides psychological therapy within the standards of the stepped care model i.e. Step 2 (Low intensity) and Step 3 (High Intensity).
We are looking for applicants who have enthusiasm for working in a primary care setting, who are adaptable, enjoy variety, can work independently, as well as understanding the importance of team working. The Senior Clinician will be part of the management team for North Herts and the role will include: providing supervision to the High Intensity Therapists and trainees, being involved in service development, contributing to our long term health conditions integrated care programme, and supporting the senior psychological wellbeing practitioner to ensure a seamless and consistent service of low and high intensity CBT treatments. Other tasks will include contributing to the service’s risk management rota, screening referrals, attending senior clinician meetings and carrying an agreed caseload. There will be opportunities for ongoing professional development as well as contributing to further service development.
- The post holder must be BABCP accredited or clearly eligible for BABCP accreditation
- This is a 4 day post, which will mean that you can continue your clinical practice as a High Intensity Therapist on the other day, or it offers the opportunity of a part-time post.
- If you are invited to interview, you must bring with you any academic qualifications certificates.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
