Help us achieve our vision for mental health provision in Hertfordshire!

We’re looking for talented mental health nurses (RMNs) who are highly-motivated with an excellent work ethos to join our friendly inpatient services for adults with mental health problems. We are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic and genuine individuals to join our dynamic nursing team under the role of Staff Nurse.

The successful candidate for this role will work at Aston Ward, Lister hospital. Aston Ward is an acute psychiatric unit that cares for men and women who require assessment and treatment within an inpatient setting. It is a dynamic, energetic, challenging yet highly rewarding environment to work in.  Previous experience in a similar health care setting would be an advantage – good computer skills essential. The ideal applicant will have experience in mental health, however, Preceptees are welcome to apply and will be supported throughout this period with a preceptorship programme.

It’s an exciting time to join the Trust as we develop new ways of working, which will see us deliver high quality and responsive 24/7 adult acute care – but we need you to help us achieve our vision. The role will provide opportunities for you to develop your skills and make a difference to people with mental health problems and their families.

We would like to see a real passion for mental health. It’s a challenging role, in a sometimes challenging environment, but we believe it will provide a talented and ambitious clinician with real scope to develop and influence practice.

The Trust itself is a leading provider of mental health and learning disability services with ambitions to be the leading provider in the country. We’ve been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and believe we are on the path to become a ‘Great’ organisation. We are a strongly values-based organisation, so that you – and anyone that comes into contact with our services – will experience consistently welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional treatment.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our future leaders programme, and benefit from excellent promotion prospects. We also have some state of the art clinical environments and the opportunity to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team, with an excellent range of staff benefits.

This band 6 role is open to experienced nurses wanting to engage in a band 5-6 development role
