We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist based at Waverley Road, St. Albans to support with the General Adult Community team.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for medical professionals who want to work in collaboration with our service users, carers and colleagues to provide the very best treatment and care. Professionals who want to develop and consolidate their clinical skills and competencies whilst working in a Trust with a patient-centred ethos and a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality education and training.

About your role

You will be providing clinical leadership, offering diagnostic assessments and treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high risk psychiatric conditions.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of people of working age from his/her catchment area who are referred or otherwise present to secondary care mental health services.

The successful candidate will undergo assessments, diagnosis, and formulation of management plans for service users. You’re to make decisions in consultation with team members, service users and carers.

The post holder will flexibly review and re-assess service users in response to need and in accordance with the pathway. You will also review patients under the Wellbeing team one-off consultation for medication review and risk assessment.

You must ensure the relevant professional registration is maintained, including Section 12, Approved Clinician, and Responsible Clinician status.
