Do you want to be part of an innovative, forward thinking, new service? 

Following additional investment from local Commissioners we are pleased to be developing a new Pediatric Liaison Team for Hertfordshire providing a service to young people who are admitted to acute wards for physical health concerns who also require mental health/ emotional well-being support.  The service will be operating from Watford Hospital and Lister Hospital.

The post holder will provide comprehensive, professional and effective administrative support to the implementation and running of the new Hertfordshire Pediatric Liaison Team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be highly proficient in using information and communication systems and technology, with a willingness and aptitude to develop this expertise.

 The post holder will be required to work independently using initiative, and applying a high degree of confidentiality to all of their work, whilst ensuring clear communication with the service and teams, and colleagues.

You will be expected to undertake non-routine duties without direct supervision, working within and to broad procedural guidelines.

Person specification

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Trained and experienced at intermediate level in a range of software packages
  • experience in a secretarial / administrative environment
Desirable criteria
  • Proficient knowledge of electronic patient record
  • Experience in healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare terms used in their day to day working
  • ECDL qualification

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in person, on telephone, and electronically.
  • To be experienced in dealing with people in distress in a calm and confident manner, using deescalation skills where appropriate
  • To have proven skills and experience establishing effective working relationships with Managers and colleagues

ANALYTICAL SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and compile information for reports
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to compile reports
