We are looking for an appropriately registered counsellor/psychological therapist  to work in our psychological therapies team. We cover a population of approximately 180,000 in North Hertfordshire and provide evidenced based psychological therapies in a secondary care context (helping people with severe and enduring mental health problems).

The main remit of this post is to offer assessments to the appropriate professional standard, psychological therapies using time limited, evidence based approaches and to participate in the activities of the psychological therapies team and the wider community services team.

The psychological therapies team currently consists of counselling and clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors. Due to the retirement of one of our counsellors after a long period of NHS service we would like to consolidate this post into one whole time equivalent full time post although we are open to applicants who would explore job sharing.

The psychological therapies team is based across three sites (Centenary House in Hitchin,, Saffron Ground in Stevenage and The Letchworth Wellbeing Centre MIND/NHS). We meet regularly and participate in county wide training events and provide a supportive work environment in which looking after one another is encouraged.
