South West Community, Colne House Watford

HPFT is one of a handful of mental health trusts in the country to receive a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’. The Trust aims “to become the leading provider of Mental Health and Specialist Learning Disability services in the country”.

The post holder must participate actively in professional, clinical and managerial supervision, and undertake relevant training aligned with the post holder’s personal development plan and other relevant professional bodies’ guidelines regarding continuing professional development.

The post involves providing medical leadership for psychotherapy in the South West Community Mental Health Team (based in Watford) providing assessments, psychological formulations and psychotherapy treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high risk psychiatric conditions. The post holder will be based in Colne House, Watford which is the base for one of the Community Teams covering SW Hertfordshire. Clinical work such as outpatient clinics will take place at Colne House but may also take place in another Trust location or other community destinations such as at service user's home, in prison or in police stations.

The post holder must ensure they are on the specialist register or have CCT (or expected within 3-6months of appointment date in Medical Psychotherapy) and maintain the relevant professional registration.

Relocation Expenses:  The post holder will be expected to live within 10 miles or 45 minutes travelling distance of the base. The successful candidate may be eligible to apply for assistance with removal and associated expenses in accordance with the Trust’s Relocation Policy.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
