Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is at the forefront of providing integrated health and social care. The Trust specialises in providing services for people with mental health problems and people with a learning disability including those who require specialist or forensic health care.

HPFT is one of a handful of mental health trusts in the country to receive a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’. The Trust aims “to become the leading provider of Mental Health and Specialist Learning Disability services in the country”.

This is a NHS Specialty Doctor post. The Specialty Doctor will work 10 PAs with one full-time Consultant Psychiatrist, who is based at Civic Offices in Borehamwood. The post holder will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and trainees allocated to the community services. People receiving services from the community services are predominantly severely mentally ill and so active involvement in the process of care programming is vital. The post holder will be expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis, but with access to Consultant. 

Eligibility: Fully registered Medical Practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC) possession of a current License to Practice. With addition of working towards Section 12 approval & AC Approval (or eligibility for Section 12 approval & AC Approval)

Occupational Health & Disclosure Barring Service Checks: The appointment will be subject to clearance from the Occupational Health Department and the DBS
