The Trust is seeking a consultant old age psychiatrist (10PA) to join the Specialist Mental Health Team for older people (East quadrant).
This is a Consultant old age psychiatrist post (10 PAs) working in community based mainly at Community Team Base at Oxford House, Bishop’s Stortford. This Specialist Mental Health Team for Older People post provides specialist psychiatric consultation to the Buntingford, Bishop’s Stortford and Ware community (Upper Lea & Stort Valley of the southeast sector) of Southeast Herts and crisis function of the southeast sector (i.e. half of East Quadrant). The post holder will work closely with the Crisis Function team, SMHTOP, local GP practices and acute hospital liaison at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH), Harlow.
The vacancy has arisen as the result of reconfiguration of the service, and the Trust regards this as an opportune moment to improve the functioning of the team from being good to great. The Community Mental health Services for older people in the trust consist of early memory diagnostic and support service (EMDASS), recovery and therapy service and crisis functions as well as elements of integrated primary care services. Car driver essential, or access to a car (unless you have a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 2010).
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
